COURSE SUMMARY

Prerequisite: CompTIA A+

IT Networking at Tech901 provides students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand, support, and troubleshoot modern network environments. Building upon the foundation established through CompTIA A+ certification, this course prepares students for the CompTIA Network+ certification while introducing the technologies that power today's connected organizations.

Through instructor-led lessons and hands-on labs, students gain experience working with network infrastructure, routing and switching concepts, wireless technologies, network security, cloud networking, and troubleshooting methodologies. Students learn how devices communicate across networks, how to identify and resolve connectivity issues, and how to support reliable and secure network operations.

The course covers essential networking concepts including TCP/IP, network protocols, network architecture, virtualization, network monitoring, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity fundamentals. Through practical exercises and real-world scenarios, students develop the technical problem-solving skills required to support business networks in a variety of professional environments.

By the end of IT Networking, students will be prepared to pursue the CompTIA Network+ certification, a globally recognized credential that validates foundational networking knowledge and skills. The knowledge and certification earned through this course provide a critical stepping stone toward careers in network administration, infrastructure support, and cybersecurity while preparing students for more advanced studies in IT Security and other specialized technology disciplines.

Already Have the Skills? Students who already possess the required knowledge may earn the CompTIA Network+ certification independently and provide proof of certification for placement into the next course in the pathway.
